From Dr. Haskett ...

This web site is dedicated to my brothers and sisters ... who have been forced to walk in the hurting and healing world of sexual abuse and trauma. It is especially dedicated to those that have been forced to walk journeys that have been the hardest, longest, and most painful, with the least amount of support, guidance, and with nearly no feelings of hope. Please accept my most profound apologies for each moment of your hell.

This web site is offered to you as a “something” to try to help you in your loneliness and confusion. I have worked to make it as simple as possible, yet with some plain guidance toward sources of help. Some of the suggested guidance is for you to “click on” other web sites with an abundance of information. You can move at your own pace. Some of the suggestions are for you to help yourself by contacting one of the specialist therapists or attending one of the meetings that are available in the Greater Nashville, Tennessee area.

For those of you with lesser experiences of abuse, you are also welcome to utilize any and all of this web site material in any way that you can.

The first section of this web site is designed and given to you as a gift. We call it “Open to the Public - General Information.”  The second section, "Members Only", is designed for me to share the fullness of my thoughts and passions regarding all that I know about the healing and thriving pathways for persons to overcome the pain of sexual abuse. I intend it to be my best professional work. That section will be separate and will require your subscription. Hopefully by the time I get it written and you are ready, you will have begun some support system meetings and/or made contact with one of the specialist therapists. Those are not requirements for subscription, but the material in the second section will be more direct and in more detail.

Hopefully, some of you using this site will be pastors. I especially welcome you, and thank you for learning about the healing and thriving necessary for us wounded persons.

So welcome to all.

So I say, "Welcome to all"  so I guess I should note some truth and wisdom here.  I am a 66 year old caucasian  heterosexual male and I have lived my entire life within the USA.  So I guess you can expect me to sound something like a caucasian heterosexual 66 year old male, and you would be correct, except for some additional facts.  For 50 years now, I have experience and sometimes even requested being told truth by females about what they feel and think about white males, me.  The stuff they have told me has not been pretty and therefore it has been hard and painful to for my white male self to hear, and it has changed my life, because it has been the truth.   So I guess you can say I am a "modified" caucasian heterosexual male.  I has been difficult to stay awake in such surgery.  The heterosexual component has also noticed a transformational aspect.  I am still clearly heterosexual but all my healing from my experience of sexual abuse, plus the thousands and thousands of hours I have been a caring and learning marriage and family therapist focused on the special hurts and concepts of persons who were also sexually abused, I have been "modified" to see that the topic is not heterosexuality or homosexuality or gender issues, or even racial, or mostly anything else, it is about being human.  My hope and focus  is about restoring us first and foremost to being fully respected and valued as humans of worth.  That is the way we all were born.  That is the way we all can live.  I am Caucasian and not African American, nor Hispanic.  Everything in this web page is focused upon the core healing issues of dignity and respect, regardless of the lesser issues.  Race, gender, and orientation issues are realities, but not the core issue.  Human dignity, community, self respect, and health relationships are the core issues.  So, again, I say "Welcome" to anyone that desires to seek dignity, community, self respect, and honorable relationships.  There is much I do not know.  However, whatever I do know I am trying to share with you.

I am open to your feedback. My preference is for you to mail me your comments by the US Postal Service at Haskett-LMC, 2000 Warfield Drive, Suite C, Nashville, TN  37215. Thank you. Max R. Haskett, D-Min, LMFT, LPC, CSAT. Survivor and Thriver.
